Carolyn Rogers, APR, CPRC
EXPERIENCE
Carolyn has more than 25 years experience in public relations, marketing, advertising and fund development. Her background includes consulting in a variety of industries including health care, education, finance, fundraising and non-profit.
Before forming Briggs & Rogers, Carolyn owned Carolyn Rogers Public Relations, a small agency established in 2005 handling public relations programs for a variety of public relations accounts along with special event planning such as An Evening with Jane Pauley, The Rock On Scramble & Jam, the Southwest Florida Wine Fest and more.
Prior to that, she served as director of development for Lee County's most prestigious private independent school - Canterbury School, The Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida and Lee Memorial Health System Foundation, and worked in health care marketing and public relations for University Community Hospital in Tampa, Fla. and a number of physician practices in Tampa and Fort Myers.
INVOLVEMENT
A long standing resident of Southwest Florida, Carolyn is a member of the board of trustees for the Southwest Florida Community Foundation, alumni member of the Leadership Lee County (Class of 1996), and member of the United Way allocations team. She also served as vice president of the Planned Giving Council and co-chairman of the award-winning Leave a Legacy campaign in Lee County for three years. She is a committee chair for the Southwest Florida chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association and a member of the state organization's Counselor's Network.
Carolyn earned her bachelor's degree in mass communication specializing in public relations from the University of South Florida, Tampa. She has earned certification as an accredited public relations professional and a certified public relations counselor from the universal accreditation board for the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) and Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). She has also been a certified fundraising consultant (CFRE) since 2000 and is registered with the State of Florida Department of Agriculture as a fundraising consultant.
AWARDS
Carolyn's work has been recognized by FPRA with Golden Image Awards for best public relations program in the state for special events 2009 for the SWFL Wine & Food Fest, and for best community relations program 2008 for Rock On Scramble & Jam. Her work has also received local awards including recognition by the Southwest Florida Chapter of FPRA for special events and printed tools, and a 2009 Silver Addy awarded by the SWF Chapter of the Ad Federation for best brochure/sales kit.
